What are some simple and sexy eyeliner &/or make up tips?

I'm 17 and know very little about make up. I've only been wearing eyeliner for 2 years now and I'm slowly getting into the whole make-up process. I want ideas for just hanging out with friends and then going out at night. I really love the smokey and dark shadows but i also love the casual bronze looks. And if anyone has any tips for applying eyeliner to the top of the eye would be great too. I have an eyeliner stick but i occasionally use my moms liquid eyeliner.What are some simple and sexy eyeliner %26amp;/or make up tips?
It doesn't matter much on your eye color which shades of eye shadow you choose, although some colors will ';bring out your eyes'; more.





My rule of thumb is to match the eye color with the outfit.





There are three categories of colors:





COOL colors: (That have BLUE undertones) like blues, greens, pinks, purples. When you wear a COOL color, choose a COOL eye shadow accent.


Remember it like this: COOL-BLUE WATER.





WARM colors: (That have YELLOW undertones) like yellow, gold, red, orange. When you wear a WARM color, choose a WARM eye shadow accent.


Remember it like this: WARM LIKE THE SUN.





NEUTRAL colors: like black, white, gray, even tan.


Go with ANY OTHER eye shadow THAN the colors that have COOL or WARM undertones. (Like brown (which can also go well with warm colors) and silver, beige, or charcoal.





Application for eyes:


A ';highlighter'; color, like a shimmery white or very light tan, goes just under your brow, near the outer edge only.





Then apply a ';base'; color all over the remaining eye area, including the eye lid up to the inner brow. (Don't cover your highlight color!)





Then your ';accent'; color is your shade that matches your cool, warm or neutral outfit. Apply the accent color in the outer crease of the eye, just the outer half of the crease.





Use a blending brush (like a small blush brush) to blend the darker accent shade. This will eliminate any ';harsh lines'; in the shadow.

Don't forget the eye liner and mascara too! Remember to put the eye liner UNDER the lash line, not on the ledge of the eye!! Putting the eyeliner on the ledge is unhealthy for your eye and also makes you get those ugly ';eye boogers';. For a more dramatic look, apply the eye liner above the top lashes too. Just follow the lash line and get the eyeliner as close to the lashes as possible. Eyeliner application takes practice to perfect, so don't be discouraged if you have trouble with the first application.





Add a lip color %26amp; gloss, and a touch of blush on between the temple and the ';apple'; of the cheek and your ready to go!

I use nivea young tinted moisturiser at the moment and it is quite good, I also use avon perfect match foundation and natural collections pressed powder. Just wanted any reccommendations?

The most natural foundation i have found is Smoky Mountain Minerals mineral makeup. You can find them at www.SmokyMountainMinerals.com . They don't use the bismuth oxychloride like bare escentuals, so they don't make you itch or turn red. I love it. Looks natural! You might want to try their eyeliner, too. just apply it with a liner brush or a chiseled liner brush. it stays on all day! my favourite liquid eyeliners are majolica majorca neo automatic eyeliner and revlon color stay liquid eyeliner. if you like thick lines, i think gel/cream eyeliners are really handy too (they have them at like kate, mac, bobbi brown, everywhere) it is abit expensive but they last really long and there is more than enough amount in one pot. but these are mainly for thick eyeliners. theyr like between pencil and liquid, but they realy dont smudge!!





as for foundation i like mac. they have variety of colors and i like how they stay for a long time. its abit thick thou. i also like revlon.
I like using Bobbi Brown for foundation, most people don't realize I'm wearing it and compliment me on my great-looking ';skin';.


For liquid eyeliner, I used to use the Body Shop's penliner, iot stays on pretty well. I also recently started using Mac's Fluidline. That stuff stays on!
H.I.P cream liner is really good. lasts all day and very good color payoff. Its kinda hard to find I was looking for it at kmart but didn't find it. So I went to CVS.





also I hear Maybelline mineral Power foundation is good. I bought the concealer today
I LOVE the Hollywood mineral foundation from LA Minerals. Looks and feels natural and stays on all day. I swim in it and it stays!
For Powder and Foundation I use Mary Kay makeup.For lipstick.Meh I go to wal-mart or something and see what they have.

Is it okay to wear cream eyeliner on your lower lash line?

I might get Loreal's HIP eyeliner in the future. Can you wear eyeliners like that on the lower lash line, or is it like liquid liner, where it looks strange and runs everywhere?Is it okay to wear cream eyeliner on your lower lash line?
It's perfectly safe! I have a gel eyeliner from MAC and is works beautifully on the lower lash line and waterline. It doesn't smudge like the pencil or stick eyeliners do and it doesn't make a mess like the liquid liners :)Is it okay to wear cream eyeliner on your lower lash line?
I don't know how you've seen liquid eyeliner looking badly but if it is applied correctly than it can actually look quite defining and you can have a lot of fun with it. A lot of time liquid liner will run because of sweat or just a naturally oily face. You can buy water proof liquid liner anywhere, personally I prefer maybelline's water proof liquid liner, and you just need to let it dry. Sometimes people even use primers and some put powder on top or eyeshadow to make it last longer/not run. The same basic idea can be used for cream liner. My friend uses it daily and it looks amazing and she loves it. Just make sure to find out how your skin reacts to it so that if you need primer, apply primer, if you need powder on top, put it on top. Get used to it and eventually you will be comfortable enough to wear it daily.
It's totally fine I've put it in my lash line and water like 100000 times. It can be hard to apply it to your waterline with a brush but it's totally worth it n it's hard to mess up.
i have it , i wear it on my waterline and smudge it down onto my lower lashline it stays all day , its great i really reccomend it jus for the waterline too tho
you can put it along your lower lashline


but do not put it on your waterline.[the part inside your eye]

Maybelline Unstoppable Eyeliner is by farrr THE BEST drugstore eyeliner. Don't even bother trying anything else. Although if you really want non-smudgy non-smearing eyeliner, try MAC Penultimate, it's $16 but worth it... I have not been able to go back to drugstore eyeliners ever since.


I use Bare Escentuals foundation since I have oily golden brown skin and the drugstore varieties don't cater to my needs, but Revlon Beyond Natural Skin Matching Makeup is a good liquid foundation at the drugstore. It's kind of a foundation/tinted moisturizer hybrid. Physician's Formula Mineral Wear Pressed Powder is probably the best loose powder at the drugstore.
i use neutrogena liquid foundation, works great


cover girl powder, also works great ( but use a brush not the foam thingy, that just moves it all around un even)


and if you want a non smearing eyeliner, stay away from cover girl on the top of your lid, i use cover girl twistup eyeliner for my bottom and if you wanna put eyeliner on ur top lid deffinetly use liquid eyeliner, dusnt matter the brand just check the bottles and make sure its the applicator you want, but for non smearing top lid, def use liquid liner, it takes practice but i used to be afraid of it and i sucked, now ppl come to me to put it on them ive gotten so good at it lol.
Almay intense i-color liners are amazing.


they are pearlescent so its really really pretty.





if you don't want the pearlescent then i recommended Revlon Colorstay liners.

Never use the same colour as your eyes, if you want your eyes to pop. A black pencil can be too harsh - but if you use one go over the line with an angled brush to smudge the line a little. Ideally on blue eyes you should use brown liner. The idea is that to contrast and pop you want to use the colour opposite to your eyes on the colour wheel, which would be orange, however most folks don't wear orange liner - but brown has orange tones it in.


As for eyeshadow, it depends on the undertones of your skin - my sister and I both have the same colour hair and same colour eyes and are both fair, but she wears greys, blue and pinks and looks fine and I am more suited to warmer colours, browns, plums, peaches
I have fair skin blue eyes and blonde hair too!!


what i use is black eyeliner, medium shades of cover-up with some shimmer, and black liquid liner on the top eyelid and sometimes black eyeshadow. but..sometimes it's cute to just wear eyeliner on the bottom and just leave the top blank. i try to mix things up alot lol..

Black eyeliner, and blue eyeshadow
You should always use black eyeliner no matter what eye color you have and you should try light colored eye shadows.
try brown or plum eyeliner then use a brown or gray shadow


never use blue eyeshadow unless you want to look like a hooker
Grey Eyeliner.. smudge it a little and then a light blue eyeshadow
well brown looks subtle, but black makes them pop.
dark navy! it will make your eyes look brighter too!

Proper way to apply eyeliner is you start from the side closest to you nose, and work outward, and same with the bottom underline.. I being a t/v, I use a lot of liner, and do extreme ';cat's eyes' with lines extending out and upward beyond the outside of the eye..


Who says you'rer not supposed to appy mascara on your bottom lashes..? You do what you like and look best in.. Keep in mind, make up is a personal thing, and what one person likes, isn't necessarily going to be what others like.. You do what you like and feel you look best in.. Enjoy
if its liquid do the top by sliding it across ur top eye lid. but if it is a pencil then only use it to under line the outer botom cornes of ur eyes.
