I need to find a good eyeliner sharpener thats cheap but works well. Also I would like to know if every makeup brand carries sharpeners or if there is a general brand for sharpening eyeliner pencils.

How do you smudge eyeliner to get that smokey effect?
Cos when I try I just get a single line and it doesn't work out that well. Also, what type of eyeliner should I use? Liquid or kohl?How do you smudge eyeliner to get that smokey effect?

depends. if you use liquid, it smudges easier as I've been told. I just use a charcoal gray pencil [revlon or covergirl are really good] and use the spongey end to smear it. sorry I couldn't be more help.
it's true that you don't need expensive products to achieve this look, but do shop around to find a soft pencil. In my experience, the softest pencils are the prestige brands. They wear better, and many are even waterproof. As a makeup artist, I like to use a flat sable brush to blend the line. Try it first by applying tiny dots of color close together, then blending. This is a beautiful look, but don't limit yourself to black--Dark green, plum, brown are all gorgeous!
TAKE YOUR BLACK EYELINER AND DRAW IT ON REALLY THICK....THEN QUICKLY SMUDGE IT UPWARD WITH YOUR FINGER TO BLEND IT AND IT WILL GIVE YOU A GREAT SMOKEY GREY LOOK THEN GO BACK AND LINE AGAIN WITH YOUR BLACK EYELINER. ALSO BE SURE TO LINE THE INNER BOTTOM LID FOR THE FINAL TOUCH. YOU DONT NEED EXPENSIVE PRODUCTS TO ACHIEVE THIS EFFECT EITHER.

gold works good on any eyes, and its very summery. it makes all eyes pop and can make you look a tanner. a light pink looks good if you arent that pale, and only a tiny bit of it. a little bit of white in the inner corner of your eye makes eyes look so bright also. hope this helps!

If you wish to bring out the color of your blue eyes then you need to use a color at the opposite side of the color wheel. For blue this is orange. This does not mean that you should wear orange eyeliner, but a liner that has undertones of orange. This could be a brown or bergundy. You could wear black liner too, but it can sometimes look stark against blue eyes, especially light blue eyes. This is best for high-drama looks, particularly if you have light hair. Blue liners will blend in with you eye color and mute it. This might be something you want at times, but is not ideal for making your blue eyes pop. Green liner is complimentary to blue being on the same side of the color wheel so it will accent your eye color, but not neccessarily make it pop. This means you can wear it, but it will simply be an accompanyment to your blue eyes.
I suggest checking out something like MAC Teddy or Costa Riche Kohl Liner, or MAC Brownborder Powerpoint pencil. These are, of course, just a reference and you can use them a color guide to pick out less expensive liners. I really LOVE Styli-Style liners. They range from $4.99-$5.99 each and are FANTASTIC. They last all day and don't smudge and come in an AMAZING array of colors. I highly recommend that anyone give them a try.

Usually, I sit on the floor when I put my make-up on in the morning, and when I have to sharpen my eyeliner pencil pieces might chip or flake off causing an ugly black stain on my carpet. Now they are everywhere! Any ideas on how to remove them?How do you clean eyeliner out of carpet?
Spray your carpet with Fantastic- heavy duty let it sit for a couple hours- spray it again right before you're about to clean it and if you have a carpet cleaner use it- Buy Royal solution it works fantastic. If you dont have a carpet cleaner then scrub it a little, it should come right off. Hope it helps... I have 3 kids that are always spilling red juice on the carpet, it works to clean it out, %26amp; also I use it for my kitchen floor-for the graut in between my tiles, it will leave my floor looking like I just moved in my apartment.How do you clean eyeliner out of carpet?

either clean the whole carpet with the hoover (when you wash the carpet) or get a brush and cleaning products, pour a bite of cleaning product in your carpet and scrub it with the brush, then wipe it off with a damp cloth.
The best thing that I have found to clean carpet stains is Spot Shot carpet cleaner.
I have used it to take out all kinds of horrible stains. Everything from vomit, blood and pee. I have also used it to clean up a whole bottle of base that my daughter spilled on white carpet.
It is really easy to use and the absolute best thing I have ever found!
