How can I keep eyeliner on without it running off?

I'll apply eyeliner to the rims of my eyes (top and bottom)

How can I keep it from coming off?How can I keep eyeliner on without it running off?
use a waterproof eyeliner

the only downside is that you have to use a makeup remover to take it off not waterHow can I keep eyeliner on without it running off?
Here is a makeup secret:

Urban Decay Eyeshadow primer works amazingly.

It is obviously made for eyeshdaow.

But, apply thin lines of the product above and below your eye in the way you want your eyeliner.

Glide over the eyeshadow primer with your eyeliner until desired darkness is achieved.

I would recommend ';MakeUp Forever Aqua Eyes Eyeliner'; from Sephora.

If you don't want to go through all the trouble of this, try the ';Smashbox Jetset Waterproof Eyeliner';.

It's a must-have.

I hope this helps! :)

iv tried waterproof and it doesn't stick to the inside of my eye but if you put a tad bit of eyeshadow around the outside it will keep your skin from get oily by ur eye and it might stick..well it does work for me. :D
Since you are putting the eyeliner on INSIDE your eye, and since the eye flushes itself out, there is no way to get it to stay. Try applying on the outside of your eye, but other than that, you'll most likely have trouble. Hope I helped!
Try a waterproog eyeliner =)

What is the best eyeliner that doesnt smear?

Every eyeliner I buy is never right. First I had the pencil and it didnt rub on dark enough, and then I bought the soft kind and it just smears all over the place so what I am looking for is an eyeliner that DOESNT smear and will go on dark. Any cosmetic experts know of any? So far I have tried Covergirl and Nyc Pencils and also Covergirl %26amp; Avon soft eyeliners. None satisfied me so I need help! What is the best eyeliner that doesnt smear?
hahahah Maybelline and Covergirl are the worst make up brands to use.

If you want quality, splurge. Stila's smudge pots are inexpensive ($16) and they can be applied as eyeliner via brush. It stays on all day, never smears, and the only way I can get it off is with eyemake up remover. The pigment is intense and looks the same hours after the application. You can order it at sephora.comWhat is the best eyeliner that doesnt smear?
smashbox.
I did the same thing I had cover girl I still have it.... I just reapply it in the bathroom at schooold every 4 hours or somethinglike that.
i use avon soft and im actually quite pleased with it. it does smear but nothing touching up before finishing your makeup cant fix.

i had this one it was great im thinking it was maybelline. looooved it.
i like estee lauder.
dior!
I've been wearing Liquid Eyeliner in Black...Loreal ONLY! It's the best, it does not smear easily..stays on all day.

I've even fallen asleep without washing it off, it's still on when I awake. Just make sure you get the liquid in the gold tube...the end looks like a pencil but it's very flexible.

If this would be your first time to use liquid, use one of your pencils first...then trace over with Loreal liquid! Good Luck!
You cant go wrong with mac eyeliner. Victoria Secret also has a great new eyeliner.
The one from Avon or the one you could get at CVS..its called prestige and its silver!! not the actual eye liner but the color of the pencil!! seriously their good!
Why don't you try Mary Kay. I use the liquid and my daughter wears the pencil and it seems to work great for us. If you need to know more on Mary Kay Products email me.
You could use liquid eyeliner...I've never tried it, but all my friends do, and love it!

How do you avoid your eyeliner smearing under your eyes?

I love my eyeliner, in fact, it is the only piece of makeup that I can NOT live without. But, before 2 hours passes, I find myself in the mirror wiping away the smearing eyeliner underneath my eyes. Any advise would help. How do you avoid your eyeliner smearing under your eyes?
Since you say you can NOT live without it, this may sound a little extreme; but find yourself a good professional tattoo artist. And have your eyeliner tattooed on. Its permanent, it doesnt run, and it doesnt give you ';raccoon eyes';.

I had it done 4 years ago, and I have never been happier. And I dont have to mess with cleaning up the smears from ';so called waterproof eyeliners';.How do you avoid your eyeliner smearing under your eyes?
put mascara on your lower lashes
use a liquid eyeliner and powder over top
Don't cry, don't rub your eyes.

and use nyc eyeliner...its cheap and doesnt smudge
Yes Tyra Banks says to apply powder before your liner and it shouldnt smudge. If this doesnt work switch to ';wear infinite'; by L'Oreal. Also when I buy cheap I apply just a little bit above where I want it. Not so close to the lashes.Good Luck.
try a different brand.
make sure you buy a good eyeliner. A lot of the cheaper brands smear. Waterproof might help too.
Use aloe vera under it first.

The best way, which works for me, is just taking regular old eyeshadow and applying it over the eyeliner. same color of course, but hey it works.
Try one of the waterproof liners. I love them. They dont run or smear. Maybe the kind/brand you use comes in waterproof. If not...look around.
use a waterproof eyeliner. i love revlon's colorstay, it WILL NOT smear!!
well i found this cool stuff at the store.... i think it said either non-smear or waterproof or somthing like that, and my friend bought it cuz she was having ur same problem. so far it has worked for her.
I used to have this problem as well. Once i stopped using eye liner in pencil form i havent had the problem. I use a damp eye liner brush and a powder eye liner from MAC. I also first apply a small amount of concealer and powder under my eyes. Goodluck!
I use pencil liner by Dior and it never smears. (all my makeup is Dior, LOVE Dior).

An idea, maybe apply a black shadow with an angle brush just below your lashline then apply the liner over top of that if you still think you need it. Sometimes a harsh line under your lashes comes off as too harsh. You might soften up your look a bit if you use an eyeshadow instead.

HAve you ever applied pencil liner to the inside of your lower lid (like where your tearduct sits?) cause that could be a cool alternative to under the lashes, then just dot your liner under your lashes where you need to fill in your lashline if at all...
use water proof !
Powder that area before applying eye liner.
Use a pressed powder on your face before anything else. It will keep most makeup in place. Also, don't poke around at your eyes too much...if they tear up or something, blot with a tissue instead of rubbing with your hands.

Urban Decay has a really good eyeliners that you can smudge out.
Trust me you cannot go wrong with Covergirl. Depends on what your looking for.. waterproof? Longwear? Go to the drugstore and look and your choices

How can I make my eyeliner look good up close?

Idk, I wear black pencil liner on the top lid and sometimes it doesn't look that great up close. If I get a boyfriend soon, I don't want him to look into my eyes and see messy, globbly eye liner. Help! How can I make my eyeliner look good up close?
I use liquid eyeliner and then when it dries I use a pencil eyeliner on top and it sorta smudges a little. How can I make my eyeliner look good up close?
Sometimes using a dark brown looks better and less dramatic. Put the liner from the outside edge to the center on the top and the bottom. A good place to measure the center is to look where your pupil is. If the dark brown pencil eyeliner doesn't help, get liquid liner with a thin angled brush and do the same process. It should look better.
First, sharpen the eyeliner so you have a fresh tip. Then just before applying, put your thumb and forefinger under the tap. Using your wet fingers, gently moisten the tip of the eyeliner pencil (make sure its not too wet.) Not only does this make your eyeliner look smoother, but it's also less irritating to the eyes.
Just take your time doing your eyeliner so it won't be messy. If you mess up, smudge it with a Q-tip or a smudge brush. It actually looks better all smudgy sometimes. It might actually just be a problem with the eyeliner you're using. I use Urban Decay's 24/7 Eye Pencil, it's hard to get the hang of at first but its worth it in the long run.

    Hope this helps!
Top lid: Use a pencil then smudge it. (or get a pencil with the other end is a smudging tool)

bottom lid: Do it on the inside of your lid. Like the line inside your eye. That makes it less messy looking and really brings out your eyes. (You can do it on your top lid also)
Maybe use another kind or color of eyeliner? What I do most of the time is put a dark eyeshadow right over the eyeliner so its more smudged looking and its kind of more ';even'; than the eyeliner.

    Good luck! :]
ahhh i have this problem too, but you can go to one of those makeup people in the mall. she will give you the best advice and supplies!!! best of luck =]
If you don't want to use liquid eyeliner be sure to use a sharpened pencil. I use a sharpened pencil and it isn't messy or globbly. ;)
Use Revlon Color Stay Twistable eyeliner, and then when you're done applying it, use a Q-Tip and makeup remover to make it look perfect!
use liquid eyeliner its better maybe not as easy but better looking
No dont use liquid use the avon pencil liner it goes on perfectly with one swip
    don't use the pencil

use like the twist able one

it will look a lot better
    use liquid eyeliner
i either put a rele thin line or a thick line with black eyeshadow over it =]

How can I make eyeliner look less harsh with pale skin and blue eyes?

Pale skin, freckley, blue eyes and brown hair. How do I make eyeliner, punky and romantic stlyes, not look harsh? How can I make eyeliner look less harsh with pale skin and blue eyes?
i have the same problem, ( blue eyes, dark hair, freckles) first you will want to use a foundation the fits you skin (obviously) and get a pressed powder, but be carefull when picking these out, cause some of them dry up your face, but then you will want to apply that to oily parts of your face so it doesnt look so oily, and then get a bronzer powder, or beads( mary kay has the best bronzer beads ever) anyway and then aply that to the cheak bones an bridge of your nose it will make you look not so pale.

for the eyes, you dond want to use a black eyeliner cause it makes you look gothic or someting, but use a gray or brown, and i think useing blue eye shadows brings out your eyes, but what you wnat ot do is aply the darker blue to just above the eyelashes and the lighter blues to the lid, and hten get a shimmery white and blent it in the lighter blue and stop blendong just below the brow.

now for the lips you will probaby wat ot use a lighter color, like a peach, or a tanish brown, and that will help to make you lips look good but still not draw all the attention away from your eyes. How can I make eyeliner look less harsh with pale skin and blue eyes?
If you have light blue eyes, I suggest using a navy eyeliner. It will look absolutely gorgeous. If your eyes are darker in color, use a bronze or a brown. It will liven up your face, and be nowhere near as harsh.
try using eyeshadow instead of eyeliner, using a small headed brush makes a softer line ,i do this all the time for less obvious lines
Don't use black, use grays/charcoals, and lighter colors... brown would look good too.
Don't use black...or liquid! I would use a blue or a brown eyeliner...then take a Q-Tip or something and smudge it around to make it look less harsh.
If you are using a black, I would suggest switching to a dark-near balck, broze with a little sparkle in it, or other really dark colors like, eggplant, navy and even grey-this will also bring out your highlights in your hair and iris's. Good luck!
Im fair skinned, blonde haired and blue eyes and dark eye shadow certainly doesnt suit!!

You need to steer clear of the black and opt for a brown or charcoal type colour.

Use it very lightly and or use a white eyeliner to open the eyes a little more and 'freshen' them up.

Ensure that the pencil is always sharp as it helps it to glide a little easier and its thinner - this avoids the Ive just been hit by the eyeliner truck look!!

If all else fails, go to your nearest make up desk and ask for their guidance - they will DEFINATELY be able to help u out!!

Wishing u all the very best!
Take your time edging the liner into the lashline for a thin neat line.

(natural and makes lashes appear thicker)

You can smooth the line with a wet cotton tip if it looks uneven.

Now apply a bronze or similar eyeshadow colour into the lashline (over the liner) blending it with an eyeshadow brush.

    Finish with mascara.

    The result will look alot more natural and less harsh or ';drawn on.';

Once you master that, you can experiment with other colours.
Maybe use a soft grey coal pencil versus a liquid liner.
Use light colour, that's what I do w/light, light skin and blue-grey eyes.

    Orange
I agree that black can be very harsh on pale skin. Aging too.

I tend to either wear eyeshadow to line, applied wet, or a pencil liner, so I can smudge it/soften it to my liking. My four favorite pencil colors are:

    medium gray

    dark true brown (not reddish)

    soft olive green

    plum

Those colors bring out different flecks in your eyes, depending on what look you want.

For a punky look, I'd try smudging a charcoal gray or a navy blue.

I have very bad allergies and my waterproof eyeliner runs all day long. What is the best waterproof eyeliner?

I have tried Revlon, Maybeline, Covergirl, and Almay. Trust me i will try anything!I have very bad allergies and my waterproof eyeliner runs all day long. What is the best waterproof eyeliner?
try a more expensive brand. its not that these brand arent good but, theyre promises may be a bit false espcecially for people with allergies. visit your local sephora store, an exclusive beauty store, or if your dont know of one, maybe an ULTA or Macys, or JCpenny may have a MAC counter. At JCPennys, the clerk at the cosmetics desk would be more than happy and do a make up test on you, so before buying an eyeliner try many out at the counter. I recommend Lancome or MAC, Clinique is good too. They may be a bit pricy but theyre the best out there.I have very bad allergies and my waterproof eyeliner runs all day long. What is the best waterproof eyeliner?
You need to find out what ingredients in your cosmetics you're allergic to and stay clear of them. To get stay on eyeliner, NEVER use eyeliner. There's no one eyeliner in the market that stays on for long, even the high end ones. The secret is: use waterproof mascara. When you pull out the mascara brush, the brush is covered with the mascara. Use a tiny applicator and touch your applicator onto the mascara. Then apply it on like your eyeliner. It would dry up and cake around your eyelids real well and stays on forever. The effect is gorgeous too.
Revlon and Covergirl are good. Maybeline is alright too.

yeah, it's tough. ive found that waterproof liquid eyeliner works best for me. i love it.

lol u cant-- ive tried every brand out there nothing stays-- but a good trick--- take a few q-tips--- an make sure u put eyeliner--on the ends-- an then put in a plastic baggie-- then put in ur purse-- soo when u go to the bathroom u can do a quick fix---- also ive found that using mascara instead of eyeliner works--- sounds funny- --- but waterproof mascara will stay on ur bottom lids better than eyeliner-- so give it a shot-- works for me!
smudge it some and see if youcan use the waterproof ones.those things work miracles.
Try a water proof or oil eyeliner and aply powder before you put the eyeliner. It will help you to stay longer.
Make sure you apply it just under the lashes. If you are applying it above, it will come off easier because of the liquid from your eye. Keeping it close to the lases, apply it just underneath. Liquid eyeliner is good for lasting a long time but it takes a lot of practice and it is very dark.
liquid eyeliner works well, for me.
Spray a light coat of hairspray (about 12 inches) from face. Be sure to close your eyes. Holds all makeup all day. Just a little, tiny squirt.
Could it be that you have oily skin? I got majorly oily skin myself, so it's amazing if I don't have to reapply!

That used to happen to me all the time!! Anyways, if you put a little bit of powder (like for your face) where your liner goes before applying it, the liner stays perfectly.

Our skin around our eyes is the slickest part of our face so by putting the powder there, it gives grip and counteracts the oilHow do I get my eyeliner to do what I want it to?
Put Powder where your going to put eyeliner..

And after you put it on put power on the very edge of your eyeliner.

    Works for me..

Or just use waterproof liquid eyeliner, that doesnt smudge at all.

and if you cant use the liquid liner(hard for me too)

Just apply your pencil/auto eyeliner then use the waterproof liquid eyeliner on top, its like using the pencil liner as a guide.

Other way is just to bring a mirror with you and wipe away smudges and apply again every hour or so.. annoying but if you want to wear make up then yehh.. its what i do, get use to it really.

    ^____^
Put powder underneath your eyes. Eyeliner is usually not supposed to go on your inner lid even though it looks great the first few hours its on but definitely buy powder and maybe a new type of eyeliner. Physicians Formula(you can find it at a drug store) and Sephora have GREAT eye liners!
the thing i just started to do is kinda long, but it works.

so first i put on my pencil eyeliner like i always do, then i take some liquid liner (i use dark brown since its less harsh on my skin) and draw over the bottom lid line i already did. Then i smudge and put a bit of eye shadow (same color as liner) over the lined part so its less pronounced. and it stays on all day that way!
It's most likeyly the kind of liner you're using.

From my personal experience, the ONLY pencil liner that doesn't smudge on my waterline is Urban Decay's 24/7 pencil. It works awesome!!! I think it's waterproof too, if i'm not mistaken =]
use a liquid liner, they dry on and dont smudge. u cant rly help ur eyeliner from smearing, the reason y is becuz of the heat, naturally prodiuced tears (u produce a tiny bit of tears a few times a day to wash out ur eyes) and ppl rubbing their eyes.
if your using a pencil u can try heating it up first. hold your lighter to it for about 2 seconds, then apply and it stays for a very long time. liquid eyeliners can run but if u use a dry pencil first then apply the liquid liner it should also stay all day.
I use black shadow as eyeliner, and apply it on with a thin angled brush. It lasts me at least 6 hours.
Invest in a better eyeliner? Or smudge it when you first put it on, so it is not a harsh line on the lash line..Or touch up every hour or so..and put foundation or concealer and powder on the skin underneath.
Try a new eyeliner like a liquid water proof one(be careful when you put it on) or just a liquid one. It's much easier to handle with.
it matters if ur eyes r very wattery

and if they r it gets smugged alll under my eye

How do you get an eyeliner stain out of carpet?

I have ground in eyeliner (black) in my carpet (beige), is there any way to get it out without it smearing and making a bigger mess? How do you get an eyeliner stain out of carpet?
Try a cleaner with orange oil. That helps to remove a lot of things from the carpet. Good luck! How do you get an eyeliner stain out of carpet?
Remove Eyeliner, Eye Pencil, and Eyeshadow Makeup Stains From:

    Acetate, Carpet/Synthetic, Carpet/Wool, Fiberglass,

    Rayon, Silk Triacetate, Wool

Brush (the method of using a stiff-bristled brush to gently remove dried stains and spots) or blot up any excess, taking care not to spread the stain. Flush (the method of applying stain remover to loosen staining materials and residue from stain removers) with a dry-cleaning solvent such as Afta Cleaning Fluid. Apply a dry spotter to the stain and cover with an absorbent pad dampened with the dry spotter. Check the stain every 5 minutes. Before changing pads, press hard against the stain. Continue the alternate soaking and pressing until no more stain is being removed. Flush with one of the dry-cleaning solvents and allow to dry. If any stain remains, flush it with water and apply a wet spotter with a few drops of ammonia. (Do not use ammonia on silk or wool.) Cover with an absorbent pad dampened with the wet spotter. Let it stand as long as any stain is being removed. Change the pad as it picks up the stain. Keep the stain and pad moist. Flush well with water. Repeat if necessary; allow to dry.

How to make pencil eyeliner look good and showable?

My mother wont let me wear liquid eyeliner, and when i put on pencil eyeliner it doesnt look like im wearing any! how can i make it look good and showable?!?!

dont no if this matters but i have hazel eyes. How to make pencil eyeliner look good and showable?
you don't need liquid eyeliner for it to work. i suggest you're mother takes you to target and you can find a twist eyeliner. its not a full pencil but its not liquid either. it's called Color Stay eyeliner, and i think it'll work well for you. it works fine on your top and bottom eyelids and it won't come off during you're typical day. Also, if you have mascara, or maybe you could use your moms, you can take the edge of the mascara brush and treat it like eyeliner. i've tried it and i think it looks real cute. How to make pencil eyeliner look good and showable?
If you want, you can get a retractable eyeliner pencil. These have different brands and are more easily to glide with. I think the best brand i have every used is Prestige. They sell this brand at Wallgreens.
    i use colorstay also.its about $6 @walmart

Do i apply on my upper or lower eyelid? Or both? And how?How to i apply eyeliner to make my eyes look bigger?
    i would use mascara instead.

on the top and bottom lashes! How to i apply eyeliner to make my eyes look bigger?
Eyeliner is made to make your eyes appear smaller except for white (which doesn't really go on and stay on without looking a little weird, but you would apply it in the corner of your eyes.. Black makes them smaller and more cat like.

But if you still want to use the black eyeliner then definitely ONLY use it on the top lid. Its much more modern too. And apply it right in the lash line, smudge it in the lashes if needed. And just use a bunch of mascara. Mascara always makes eye pop and will make them look bigger.

Also use some light white or shimmery eyeshadow in the corner of your eyes. It makes them look bigger and wider. Also right under your eyebrow on the eyebrow bone.

    Good Luck!
use a white eyeliner on your waterline and then line the eye with black. this will really open up your eye. you can open them up further by adding a little white eyeshadow just under you eyebrow bone. hope this helps!

u can do both, depends on wot u want 2 do. only do 1/3 of ur eye startin from outside. apply sum white shadow or sumthin 2 the inner corners, that also works
use upper is recommended but if using both is good on you, don't close them at the end of your eyes coz closing will make your eyes smaller.

How do you put eyeliner on your top eyelashes?

I have tried, but it always turn out sloppy and uneven. I'm not even totally sure how to put it on very well. How do you put eyeliner on your top eyelashes?
When your starting, practice it. Go very slow. If you think you need to blink or twitch, just stop, and wait till it passes. Start with a pencil first. That you can smudge and make look fine if you mess it up. Once you've mastered that try liquid. How do you put eyeliner on your top eyelashes?
Putting eyeliner on top of your upper lashes makes your peepers wide and awake. It also creates an illusion of thick eyelashes. I always line my upper lashes, seldom below for a more natural look. To do it, pull your eyes to the side and line your eyes. By pulling the skin gently to the side, you will allow the liner to glide smoothly and create straight lines, not sloppy.

As an added tip, try lining your eyes up to the section where your eyelashes end (not the whole length of the lid). Well, it works for me as the liner wouldn't be so obvious it looks like your real eyelashes which is dark.
I use urban decay liner because its super creamy and easy to put on.

I simply pull on my lid and use short small strokes from my inner to outer corner.

And press it extremely close to my lashline because i don't like dark thick liner.
I pull my eye lid to the side (Chinese style) and start from the inner part and work my way out. For me, it turns out perfect every time

Try almay or Physicians formula liquid liners, liquids tend to last a lot longer than pencil eyeliners because once they dry they dont smudge or rub off.
there's a waterproof eyeliner that Avon sells that isn't expensive and man, does that sucker stay on!!!

Also, like someone else said, liquid eyeliner doesn't come off easily, unless it gets wet, of course. And it's less convenient to apply.

I bought the Avon waterproof eyeliner because it was on sale one day, and it's the one I'd DEFINITELY wear to a waterpark.

How do you keep eyeliner from smearing?

I have a pretty expensive eyeliner but it smears under my eyes and looks disgusting within a few hours.

How do I correct this without getting new eyeliner? How do you keep eyeliner from smearing?
maybe trying dabbing a little bit of face powder under your eyes before you aply your eyeliner. this may help. i still have to keep an eyeliner in my purse though, for touch ups though-out the day. good luck and happy eye lineing! How do you keep eyeliner from smearing?
I just bought a new eyeliner 2 days ago its called

Shesido Eyeliner its $19.00 at Sephora or The Bay.

And honestly it does not smudge one bit I was so, so

shocked when I saw the results I didn't believe it. But

since you don't want to get a new eyeliner I suggest

that you take a brush that you would use for your eye

shadow and if you have a fair color eyeshadow take

that and dab it under neath your eye, this will keep the

eyeliner from running, also try loose powder if you have

any. I've tried this with many eyeliners and it only worked

with one of them, it still smudges afterwards. Many people

recommend liquid eyeliner but I think its too messy even

though I've never tried it. But those are the tips I got from

lots of make up artists and online make up artists. Hope

this helps, if not try the eyeliner I mentioned at the top.
Use a color of eyeshadow that best matches your liner and lightly coat the eyeliner w/ the tip of the applicator w/ the eyeshadow. Ex. black, slate grey, dark blue, etc. for soft black, blue, or smoke eyeliner. This will set the eyeliner and take alot of the moisture out of it that lets it smudge.
this is what i do, if you want to use it fine,

    1) use a pressed powder before the eyeliner

    2) then put it on how ever.

    3) then put white eyeshadow on the bottom of the lid, just a bit like, get as close as you can to the eyeliner dont touch it!

    4) apply more pressed powder so the white eyeshadow wont show.

this really works %26amp; i love it .

check your make up every 3 hours %26lt;333
concentrate and don't cry or wipe your eye
get shelaq by benefit. it's a sealant that you put over your eye and lip makeup so it stays in place all day and waterproofs it. it comes in a tiny bottle but it really lasts forever. just dab a little over your eyeliner or eye shadow and you're good to go all day with no smudges or touch ups. you can buy this at sephora
clean the top with a alcohol wipe, that always work. But when it comes time to chuck it out - dont get that brand again.

Eye liner is usually to make small eyes look bigger or big eyes look even bigger, so if your eyes look strange and makes your face look weird, then it just may be that....

You don't have the need to wear it.
you should put either gold or pink eyeshadow all over lid and then subtle forest green in the crease and under your eye along the bottom lashes and then use black mascara and maybe curl your lashes to add oomph
brown and pink eye shadows should look good with hazel eyes!

Waterproof ones stay on the longest... i also find it you buy good quality such as maxfactor or rimmel, they tend to stay on longer.
try using the mac engraved eyeliner..it stays on for hours and its waterproof..you don't need to retouch.
I'd change over to a more expensive e/l... I've never had mine to smear, even in a hot kitchen, but I never buy cheap make up.

(in Mahogany), or even MAC's Fluidlines. You can also try Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion on your lid, then line your eyes with a pencil or an eyeshadow. Use your free hand (the one that's not holding the eyeliner) to pull the corner of your eyelid tight to eliminate any wrinkles and help you get a nice smooth line. Apply eyeliner as close as possible to your lash line. How do you apply eyeliner easier to the top eyelid?
I use the Loreal marker eyeliner. It's not as thin as liquid eyeliner with that thin brush (which I can never use) and it's better than the pencil eyeliner.

There is no going wrong with this. Just get this and try it a few times and after some practice, you'll get your eyeliner looking perfect on the top eyelid, I promise. My friends have commented on how perfect my eyeliner was when they saw me and asked me how I made it so perfect, but it's really just so easy, you just have to have the right product. It really works and stays on ALL day. Give it a try, they sell it at Target and Wal*Mart as well.
i use a pencil on the top lid and go over with a liquid. i found that when i just use the liquid i don't get an even line, but by using the pencil first it's easier to apply and the liquid helps make the line darker and standout.

i use covergirl pencil (the kind that doesn't need sharpening) and l'oreal liquid liner.
Well, I don't wear eyeliner but my girlfriend does. I watch her put it on from time to time. I notice that she doesn't use a pencil but a really thin brush. I think she uses some dark eye shadow, then wets the tip of the brush and draws it on her eye....All I know is that she looks hot when she does! Hope this helps other ladies!
It is difficult! what i do is i use liquid eyeliner, and apply it on my lash line. it works very well. if your going to use regular eyeliner, aplly it in a thicker line on the top and then smudge it in to the lash line. wipe away any excess you dont want with a q tip.
Try to get the eyeliner as close to the lash line as possible.

If it helps, you could make dots there with the eyeliner, then connect the lines.

It will help make it look better.

The trick I use is, if I mess up a little, I use a Q-tip to fix it.

ive tried but i give up

apparently streaching you eye works, dont work for me though

i recommend liquid eyeliner but a steady habd is best for that.
well actually, you might not want to, I always do mine around the bottom because if you use liner all the way around it actually makes your eyes look alot smaller.
pull your eye to the side (so it goes from o to %26gt;)

How do i keep the eyeliner on my waterline from wearing off during the day?

In the morning before school, my eyeliner always looks great, but after a few periods in school, all the eyeliner on my waterline is usually goneHow do i keep the eyeliner on my waterline from wearing off during the day?
This is very common when your skin tends to be a bit oily around the eyelids or, your eyeliner is not waterproof. Try using Revlon Colorstay eyeliner that you can find at your local drugstore. I've been having the same exact problem for years and no eyeliner ever worked for me. This eyeliner will ensure that it stays for an extended period of time and the color is bold enough that for however it lasts, it will still make your eyes pop. If this eyeliner still won't stay to its upmost, try applying a coat of clear mascara on top of the eyeliner. The mascara will ensure that the eyeliner stays intact and won't smudge all day. I've been using this technique for a long time now and I can guarantee you that both the Revlon Colorstay and the mascara technique will finally save your eyeliner from fading throughout the day and will look fresh as if you barely applied it. Hope this helped! How do i keep the eyeliner on my waterline from wearing off during the day?
The way to keep your eyeliner from running is to set it with the same colored eyeshadow. I have heard many make up artists do this so I decided to try it for myself after having some trouble.

So heres what I do: I first apply my eyeliner ( I use mac, graphblack kohl but you can use whatever you like) and next I take a black eyeshadow (macs carbon) and use a stiff thin brush and put it on top. Honestly my eyeliner lasts many hours when I do this.

Try it out and let me know how it goes for you :)
Try a stiff eyeliner brush with an angled tip, or just use whatever ever you have, and go over it with black eye shadow! :)

    Gooood luck!

I do this everyday and my eyeliner is always on my waterline when I get home!

But be careful, because when doing this, you may get some shadow in your eye..

So once again: BE CAREFUL AND GOOD LUCK!
Try a stay put Kohl liner, I use Jemma Kidd eye pencils and they work brilliantly. I am presuming you are talking about your bottom lash line as if it's your top lash line you could try setting with a little loose eyeshadow in a similar colour.
try setting your pencil liner with blackshadow on your lashline. just like foundation when set with powder it wont move or fade. But be careful not to get any in your eye.
Kohl liner isn't the best for staying put - liquid liner is better for that. It also looks neater when applied well.
try melting your eyeliner a bit with a lighter then apply it when its still soft. if that doesnt work try NYC water proof eyeliner. it works great for me
OMG same I wish i could help my eyeliner I put on my waterline ends up either gone or under my eye by 3 period

You can pretty much wear any color eyeliner. Dark brown will probably make them look more amber. But you can also wear green (will make them more brown), navy or blue, black, charcoal, plum - literally any color.

Brown eyes are the only color eyes that can wear most any color. just depends on which colors look good with the rest of your makeup.
    dark brown...no black.
I wear all black. But purple looks good with brown eyes too.
    Black eyeliner(not alot)

And eyeshadow color depends on your outfit,

but to bring your eyes out Id say a golden color.
eyeliner - black, charcoal or dark brown.

eyeshadow - light/ dark brown, blue, purple, green, white, black, grey, navy blue/ deep blue, pale or light baby sparkly blue, etc.

basically anything will suit light brown eyes!

It's best to get retractable eyeliner from the drugstore, (I suggest Revlon Colorstay) since you will never have to hassle with sharpening since it's always sharp because you wind the bottom. Colors come in Purple, Brown, Black and Green. It's no more than $6 and it lasts all day!
Was the sharpener the same brand as the pencil? That does matter. Are you pressing too hard? Make sure you gently twist and pull straight out. Maybe go back to the store and tell them your problem... could be a faulty sharpener or pencil, and they'll exchange it for you.

I find that Corn Silk powder helps. It's not colored so you don't have to worry about whether you've got the right shade for your skin type. I use the pressed kind, but brush it on with a big fat blusher brush. Dust some on after you've put your make up on and pat it down with your fingertips and it should help.

Don't put moisturizer on after your make-up or it will just slide off your face. Also don't dance.
After you are done but a thick concealer under your eyes then powder it it will soak up all the oils from the eyeliner.
You could try water proof eyeliner. That shouldn't smudge.
Put like a moisturizer over it to make it stay there or the areas it spreads most

How do you keep your eyeliner from forming those little gross lines underneath your eyes?

You know those lines that form in the little cracks in your skin?

How do you keep that from happening and what brand of make-up do you use?How do you keep your eyeliner from forming those little gross lines underneath your eyes?
I think it'd be best for you to invest in a makeup primer. It's a clear gel-like substance that you rub all over your face before applying makeup. It makes your skin ULTRA smooth, and allows makeup to adhere to your skin in the best way possible.

It also fills in those little cracks. I agree with one of the answerers, liquid eyeliner is the way to go! I wear it every day. But I don't recommend NYC liquid eyeliner, it cracks off!

I use Wet'n'Wild h20-proof liquid eyeliner in black, it stays on forever! How do you keep your eyeliner from forming those little gross lines underneath your eyes?
use liquid eyeliner. It doesn't smudge at all so it won't leave those annoying diagonal lines underneath your eyes.

I use NYC eye liner or Maybelline.

and it's really solid black which makes it even better. It comes off easily too. So liquid eyeliner is the way to go!

but i also use revlon and lo real

How to apply very thin eyeliner on the lower lashline?

I hate the extremely obvious, thick eyeliner on the bottom lashes, but I don't want to line my waterline. So, any tips for getting the thinnest eyeliner line possible on the lower lashes using a pencil eyeliner? How to apply very thin eyeliner on the lower lashline?
i apply my eyeliner on thick, really get it all on there. Get it on the little skin part where your eyes touch, and where your eyelash hairs are, cover it all. Then use makeup remover wipes, or baby wipes and wipe it away. Make it have a clean look to it. I hope this makes sense. When I say wipe it away, I mean wipe under the eye so you have a very clean line of eyeliner. Hope this helps. You can control how thick you want the line by how much you wipe away :)How to apply very thin eyeliner on the lower lashline?
Yes. Here's the tip: don't use eyeliner.

Take a brush, a THIN brush, and use eyeshadow. Not TOO much eyeshadow, but enough to have a black line on your lower lashline.

This way, you'll have thin and clean looking eyeliner. You can even switch up the colors.
    i agree w. that girl

but also if yu really wanna

    use liner

    u should use fluidline

i use a waterproof eyeliner and it stays on pretty much all day long and doesnt thin out of anything, so i would try a waterproof eyeliner and see how it works out for you :)How do I get my eyeliner to stay on all day?
omg that happens to me too! there is some kind of stick that u put on your eye before u apply eyeliner and its supposed to stay on all day!

After your eyeliner dries, put transluscent powder over it (and your whole face) This sets all your makeup including eyeliner.
I like liquid eyeliner. It takes a while to get used to applying it but q-tips help! The best I've used that's pretty cheap is revlon colorstay!
use liquid liner. if you line your bottom lashes, use HIP cream liner. i used to use pencil but the HIP liner is delicate enough to use on your bottom lashes and stays all day

How do you stop your eyeliner from running underneath your eyes?

I am an avid Mac user and have a problem with my eyeliner smudging and smearing under my eyes... What steps can I take to make sure my makeup stays put?How do you stop your eyeliner from running underneath your eyes?
before you put on your eyeliner put some conceler under your eyes , one that is a close match to your skin tone. And carry powder with you at all times to cover up any smudges. the conceler is a great way to help your makeup stay put under or around the eyes. How do you stop your eyeliner from running underneath your eyes?
    WATERPROOF EYELINER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
put loose powder on first then apply the eyeliner then re-apply the powder underneath the eye.
Sephora has this stuff....it's by Benefit and called SheLaq....you can apply it to eyeliner, eyeshadow and mascara, almost anything, lipstick and it makes your makeup stay put the whole day....it's about $30...but trust me it is totally worth it...if you try it and don't like it save your reciept and return it!!! i have tried it myself and use it every day....especially good for those days when it's really humid out.....and u can buy it offline 2
Powder it first, then apply your eyeliner. then lightly powder it again (I said LIGHTLY). It'll last all day.
you can hairsray over it or you can use liquid water-proof eyeliner
I use pencil eyeliner, but I only put it half way around my eye at the bottom, starting from the corner furthest from your nose and drawing in. Liquid eyeliner will ALWAYS smudge no matter how much they say it won't
put translucent powder on before you put eyeliner on.
use waterproof eyeliner and dont touch your eyes!!!!!!! i find that very hard, but i dont want my makeup to smear!!
If you're using a pencil and not liquid eyeliner burn the tip with a lighter (a little) before you apply it, but let it dry first. It seems to help.
    Buy waterproof eyeliner !
use a better brand of makeup. i suggest Clarins paris.
powder first. it will set the rest of your makeup...
Instead of using eyeliner use Eyeshadow (( I learned this tip from a MAC Beauty Consultant and trust me its so much better than eyeliner)).

First you start off with the eyeshadow (( I use MAC's charcoal because I like black eyeliner)) than I get a fine tip makeup brush than I pat it on where you would normally wear eyeliner.
umm try not to touch your eyes alot... or you can buy a smudge proof eyeliner.
sometimes it's not just your eyeliner--i had the same problem and it turned out to be runny mascara, not your eyeliner...you should try waterproof mascara and maybe try putting eyeliner on the top of your eyelid-sometimes it looks better
Put some loose powder underneath the eyes, that should keep your liner from sliding. You can also try a waterproof liner, like Chanel Aquacrayon...(it's not MAC, I know).

Another option is to use Benefit's She-lac over your liner. it'll really last.

i had the same problem until i got NYC in black. its the best. its doesnt smear unless u cry way to much. if u dont cry alot then it wont smear,it will last all day, and it will look like u just put it on for the whole day. and its around 2 bucks which is a good price. trust me i would try this if i was u.=]How can I keep my eyeliner from smearing?
really it depends on the eyeliner. That happened to me for like, 2 years then i switched to chanel eyeliner. Chanel eyeliner is amazing. Its last me ... 5 months? %26amp; it stays on the whole day. Get this, i went boating, tubing and swimming in a river %26amp; it still stayed on. I get mine at Macy's at the chanel makeup counter. good luck (:

you need a waterproof one honey. usually the liquid ones are better than crayon ones in terms of staying power too. also try putting some foundation on your eyelids first to prevent the grease causing the eyeliner to smudge
    try a different eyeliner .

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
its best to use liquid eyeliner, that never smears. if its pencil your using it smuges a lot and its easier to use liquid, but you could try using a different eyeliner

    hope this helped
I bought Maybelline Unstoppable once, and that stayed on my eyes longer.

Liquid eyeliner stays on good, but it's not the easiest to apply....I needed practice with that one.
try putting on some foundation powder before you apply.

How can I keep my eyeliner from wearing off?

I use Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in black and I only put it on my water line because I can't do it straight on my lash line to save my life. After maybe an hour it's almost all gone. Can I put my UD primer potion on my water line? Or is that kind of dangerous since it'll pretty much be right in my eye?

What should I do?How can I keep my eyeliner from wearing off?
    DONT PUT PRIMER THERE!!

    haha.

you could try a different eyeliner, i find that even though i LOVE the U.D. ones, they are better for around the eye rather than on the inner rim because they are so creamy ... try one that is a little drier like Rimmel Kohl eye pencil or the one by Bourgeois (spelling?!)

But in the end that's where tears are made and stuff so it's not going to last forever :(

How do I put on eyeliner so that is is a thin line rimming my eye?

Usually when I put it on it is a thick black line, which looks nice, but is also a bit much. How do I do it so that it is thinner but still dark and easy to notice? My pencils are thick, but I can't sharpen them perfectly and definitely not every time. Should I be using a brush? Do I just need to practice? (I've only been using it a year, once a month or so.)

Any suggestions? How do I put on eyeliner so that is is a thin line rimming my eye?
I put my eyeliner on my eyelid above my bottom lashes. The line is a fixed thickness so it is always the same. If you don't want to do it that way (some people don't like makeup products in their eyes) you should use a lipstick brush. It is very thin, firm and angled so you can get a detailed finish. Just brush the tip of your eyeliner with the brush and apply a thin line on top of your bottom lashes or just below them. How do I put on eyeliner so that is is a thin line rimming my eye?
Get a thinner pencil, and just practice.

Or line your upper water line, which is the part of your eye that is right underneath your upper eyelashes. Just pull your eyelid up a little bit and it's easy to line, maybe feel a little weird, but it adds just enough definition.

And i wouldnt use liquid eyeliner, its messy and irritating.

    Hope i helped!
Definitely try to either sharpen it to a very thin point, or buy one that is already thin.

I've found that liquid eyeliner works a lot better, looks prettier, but takes much more practice.
    my advice,

    use liquid eyeliner because:

    A. its way easier to use

    B. its easier to wash off if you mess up.

    and

    C. you dont have to keep on sharpening the pencil if you get liquid eyeliner...
If you don't want to sharpen your eyeliner all the time, I recommend getting liquid eyeliner.

What is the best liquid eyeliner for the total beginner?

I am total rubbish with liquid eyeliners but really like the look.

Does someone know of one that doesn't smudge as easily? What is the best liquid eyeliner for the total beginner?
id say go with a cream eye liner its the same as liquid it looks even better in my opinion instead of uses qtips and trying to fix the liquid u get a brush and gentley just apply the cream it doesnt rub away fast and it looks great! What is the best liquid eyeliner for the total beginner?
If you're a beginner anything non-waterproof would be great to practice with. Then when you feel confident enough, change to the water proof. You don't have to spend huge bucks on stuff like liquid eyeliner since they run out QUICK. Right now I'm just using that wet %26amp; wild h20 proof liner. It's not bad and it's cheap. It stays on all day.

Another strategy if you love how you look with the non-waterproof, then use the waterproof one and just color over, so it will stay longer. So non-waterproof to make sure, then outline it back with the waterproof for the color to stay.
pull your eyes to the side as if your asian (sorry not in racist way) pull it so its tight and no wrinkles then apply a thin line as close to the edge of your eye as possible ... hold it there for a minute to dry .. then let go and you should be fine (: x
I always keep QTips and eye makeup remover handy. I don't even worry about putting the liner on exactly right because it's easier for me to just put it on and then run a QTip over the top to get it perfect.
I too vote for Jordana liquid eyeliner, very great product..:D
The Boujoir felt tip pen version! amazing! i love it! ive been using for years now, its much easier than the usual liquid liners! I use a pencil one first as a guide and then use the pen over that! lasts all day too!
i would recommend Rimmel, you can't go wrong: affordible and easy to apply.

    :)
I use Jordana liquid eyeliner. It doesn't smudge on me.

It's one dollar and can be found at Walgreens and drug stores I think.

How can I keep my eyeliner from going to the corners of my eyes?

By like 2 hours after I put it on it's like under my eye and in the corners. I use NYC pencil eye liner if that matters. How can I keep my eyeliner from going to the corners of my eyes?
    In the inner corners?

If so then you're going to far in with the pencil liner. Your tear duct is in in the inner corner of your eye so it runs and creates that dry flaky black crap in the corner of your eyes.

Otherwise you can always use liquid linerHow can I keep my eyeliner from going to the corners of my eyes?
Firstly you are using a very bad eyeliner, because NYC is very oily.

    BUT

If you put a smooth base on your eyelid (use concealor, it works better than foundation) and daub the eyeliner on with a Q-Tip, it will stay.

A make-up artist I regularly work with colours in the very end of a q-tip with the eyeliner, and then draws the line on with the q-tip (in the same way you would with your pencil). This works because the q-tip absorbs the oil, and all that goes on to your eyelid is the pigment colour (which is what you want). It also goes on much more evenly and it looks better because the q-tip smudges into the lashes so you get a perfect line, rather then a wonky line, and also, without the oil, it stays put better.

You can build up the colour to whatever depth you like, and if you want a very deep colour which lasts all day you can ';set'; your eyeliner with a matching eyeshadow. To do this get av very fine eyeliner brush, wet it, and then dip in your shadow. Use this to trace over your q-tip line, and you will end up with a very dark (like liquid liner) look which lasts.

Wetting eyeshadow makes it last and stops it from fading or falling off as it makes it into a paste rather than powder and paste holds to skin better than powder.
It depends if you line the inside of your eyes or not. if you don't, use a white eyeliner for your bottom inner eye. if you do, you can put a little white or neutral eyeliner in your inner corner (like duwop reverse eyeliner) or use primer before applying eyeliner to keep it in place
i'd recommend the maybelline expertwear because it's cheap and it goes on nicely. if you need to wear out the eyeliner you currently have i'd say avoid putting it in places that makes it prone to smudge and smearing.
idont think it looks good when liner goes in the inner corner either. i would use two different liners, [prob not nyc] but a white and black, white in the inner half and black in the outer half. then everything stays put %26lt;3
    you need a new eyeliner.

i like mac and urban decay eyeliners. they go on super smooth and last for hours!

if your on a budget try revlon color stay.
ugh i hate that. every so often i try to get it out with my fingers hahah. idk what to do!!!!!sorry.
use a different eyeliner is the only suggestion i can think of.

    NYC is crap.
    get revlon coverstay waterproof.

that stuff works, nyc is cheap stuff..

so just get water proof stuff that should help (:

dont try those liquid eyeliners those are not good. try those solid oe's. rub it on really hard ( not so hard tht it will hurt). ive done tht once and it stayed on for 24 hours.
there is no way.u might have oily skin that's y it comes off every 2/3 hours.at lease ur not like me.mine comes off within less than 30 minutes.
I get this too and wind up looking like a racoon after a few hours. I have discovered the magic of a concealer pen dabbed under my eyes really helps prevent this, try to get a powder based one.

Good luck, I fee your pain!
put on a lot of a light brwn or a light color so that it will look blck but will not come off so easily!

Have you tried waterproof eyeliner? Usually eyeliner comes off when your eyes tear or from a little sweat.
Get an eyeliner that has Kohl as an ingredient. Prestige makes one.
I had the exact same problem (darn my oily eyelids!), but since I've switched to gel liners, my liner stays put. I recommend Bobbi Brown gel liners, especially, for nice neutral shades. For more colorful shades, try MAC Fluidlines or Stila Smudgepots.
    tattto it on
    switch to waterproof...

it won't come off for anything

i use revlons 16hr. and it works fantastically. =]
Try a little bit of pressed powder on your eyes (focus on under your eyes) before putting on your eye makeup. Don't put too much powder on though, especially if you're not using it for the rest of your face. That's worked for me. I think concealer might work too, but I haven't tried that.

I had this problem A LOT!!! What I use and don't think I'm crazy.......... BLACK EYESHADOW!!! I buy applicators buy the pack so I don't cause infection! But really the black eyeshadow on the bottom lid works great!!!! I'm not talkin under the lashes I'm talking about applyin the black eyeshadow on the part where you pull down a little and put eyeliner on !! It even looks a little darker then most and stays on longer! I also use it on the top with a brush just for applying eyeliner. Target has some of the cheapest brushes for this. I've had no problems since! If you want a thicker line on the top then stick to the pencils but with the powder on the bottom.... it may help you out a bit more with staying put! GOOD LUCK!!! P.S. Buy using eyeshadow for eyeliner, I can use ANY COLOR I WANT TO MATCH WITH OUTFITS!! If black looks great then dark blues purples and greens will look great too!!!How to keep my eyeliner from smudging?
Your eyeliner smudges because of the oils in your skin. Put powder all over your face and eyelids before putting on your eyeliner. This helps to make the eyeliner set. You should also put your eyeshadow on first, then put on your eyeliner this helps to set your eyeliner as well. I got this great tip from a Hollywood Make-Up Man at the Max Factor Studios in Hollywood. Also, you should switch your eyeliner to Revlon Color Stay Eyeliner. This eyeliner is fantastic and you'll love it. I do.
like you know where your bottom lid starts , like the flatt thing right before your eye is well put some eye liner on that it may tickle but you'll get used to it , also it will fall lightly under your eyelashes and it won't smudge. use the eye pencil stuff that is soft and not pointy.
i use revolon, they have really nice eye liner and it doesnt smudge but i usually dont wear eye liner---i use mascara instead, like for my bottom lid i just apply more and put the brush up farther, it looks like your wearing eye liner and works good
people often think its the eyeliner they are using. well it could be that, also it could be your own skin, sometimes its too oily but if your skin isnt oily you could try switching your eyeliner to waterproof.
maybe its the mascara you're putting to much on of? i don't know if you use it but I'm not sure how that would work with eyeliner.
maybe stop using it on the bottem and see how it is or don't apply that much
    Use Revlon

How do you wear eyeliner on the bottom lid?

Whenever i put eyeliner on my bottom lid it always looks bad. I sometimes put it on the inner rim but i feel it makes my eyes look smaller? How do you wear eyeliner on the bottom lid?
well it does make your eyes look smaller if you put it on the water line so..you can start by using black or dark brown eyeshadow instead of a real liner first and start applying it little by little on your bottom lashes as close as you can to the water line but just on your lashes and you can use a q tip to fix it if you mess up until you have it how you want it....even the best make up artists mess up sometimes so you just have to try different things and play with it until you get itHow do you wear eyeliner on the bottom lid?
I like to put liner on the inner rim; my eyes look bad if I only put it on the bottom lid and not the inner rim. Plus putting it on the rim gives my eyes that ';squinty'; look that you see on models and celebrities. But if you only want to put it on the bottom lid, put on a little bit using small strokes. If you put on too much, smudge off some of it with a makeup sponge
some people use white/silver eyeliner for the bottom lid. you could put your eyeliner in the refridgerator for 15 minutes before you put it on. it will be less messy. draw the eyeliner right below the inner rim at the beginning of the bottom lashes.
Try to put on very little, cause little goes a long way. I just gently sweep a few times back and forth with my brown pencil, and it makes your eye pop while still looking natural. Once you figure it out, it will look amazing. You just need to sit down and try doing it different ways until you like it. Good luck!
It does.. I would start at the outer corner and go about half way in and stop.. don't line your entire eye, it does make your eyes look smaller. Also, I just put my eye liner underneath those eyelashes, not in the inner rim. Also, don't make it super thick! :]
you can apply a thin layer underneath your lashes. if you make a mistake use a cotton swab to erase it. You can apply lotion on it for a smoother cleaner look
what I do is instead of using pencil eyeliner, I use a black eye shadow and apply it with an eyeliner brush, it looks good and its easy to do!

    hope I helped !!!

    =D

Try putting the eyeliner just under the lashes, on the outside. A thin line using the right color will enhance your eyes instead of making them look smaller.
Studys say the liner below the lashes make eyes look bigger.

liner above them make eyes look smaller.

    I do both.
For big eyes, it can make them look smaller. Try without and see what comments you get.
I only put on a really thin line. Too much looks like a hot mess.

Then do the lowerline if you want to with white to make your eyes look bigger.

u can pull the corner of ur eye then make a thin like right on the lash line/just above it

or u can go under the lashes...just lift up the lid, and apply dirrectly into the lash line...

What will make waterproof eyeliner stay in place?

I tried many eyeliners but they alway ran down my face. I then got Urban Decay's waterproof eyeliner and even that runs. There is no such thing as putting too much on as I know of many girls who put on more than I do and theirs does not run.

I asked the lady at the Urban Decay counter and she said to use their eye primer, I am planning to get a primer but am reluctant as most people don't need it so what makes mine run down?

She said it must be my moisuriser but my sister and cousin use the same moisuriser and when they use the eye pencil theirs still does not run down. Also I have tried varying everything, sometimes I moisturise the eye area sometimes I don't nothing makes a difference to it running down. The mascara I use is not waterproof and that does not run down like the pencil does. What will make waterproof eyeliner stay in place?
Try MAC liquid eyeliner waterproof - it is VERY waterproof. If you haven't use a make up remover, you cannot clean it even when you take a shower%26amp; use a soap!!!!What will make waterproof eyeliner stay in place?
Is this a pencil eyeliner? If so have you tried liquid? I always found that pencil eyeliner never stayed in place and now use liquid religiously and have never had any problems.

I either buy the maybelline one, or an even better one believe it or not is collection 2000 in dark brown as the applicator is thicker making it easier to apply.

    Hope that helps!
I've heard that a dab of face powder helps keep stuff in place.
i have the same problem, mine ALWAYS runs, i do find it helps to have a sharp pencil that has been kept for a few mins in the fridge beforehand so it does not go on smudgy. also you may want to try she-laq by benefit: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BENEFIT-Brand-New-鈥?/a> with a VERY black powder eyeshadow. you use one of the brushes (thin one) provided with the she-laq to dip into the bottle then run it into the eyeshadow and apply it to your eye like you would a pencil (in a thin line) it should seal it.
    Well, dont go to drastic!

Firstly a tip that would help keep any type of makeup on, applying vaseline to the area keeps it on all day!

But in terms of eyeliner, I would go for one with a waxy texture or wax in it, it would be solid and waterproof.

Also, using moisturiser will only make it slip off more, so leave the area dry

If it STILL runs, try putting the eye pencil in the fridge, it sounds crazy but it works and I do it all the time! It makes it hard and solid, it stays on for ages!

    Hope this helps

';For all those gooey, sticky, gummy, greasy cleaning problems. Removes chewing gum, grease, tar stickers, labels, tape residue, oil, blood, lipstick and mascara, shoe polish, crayon, bumper stickers. Works on carpets, upholstery, clothing, wood, and cement. ';How do you remove eyeliner from a painted wall?
Okay this is going to sound funny but it worked for me. Get some toothpaste, the kind that has the gentle abrasive whitener in it. Put a dab on the eyeliner and rub it around, it won't damage the paint and it should remove the stain.
paint over it lol try nail polish remover
    repaint it
Try a Mr Clean Magic Eraser. They are great! I know they get crayon off the wall, I figure it will due to same with eyeliner.
use a pencil rubber carefully give it a go

What color eyeshadow and eyeliner go with blue eyes?

I am fair-skinned with dirty blonde hair.

Brand names would be helpful, too. Thanks! What color eyeshadow and eyeliner go with blue eyes?
    we look the samee:)

blue eyes, dirty blond hair and fair skin.

its kinda hard fining stuff for our eyes and when i go to make up counters they always give me orange and dark blue, but the best thing i have found is brown eyeliner instead of black with brown mascara, green and blue eyeliners will also look really good, for eyeshadow i like using light pink and skin tone colors b.c. other colors take away from our eyes.

my fav. brand is clinique.:)What color eyeshadow and eyeliner go with blue eyes?
Well for blue eyes, silver usually works best, i would not use a really bold color because of your complection. Also for eyeliners, i would use a gray, a cobalt blue, or a black. With fair skin, a bit of pale pink blush on your cheeks always looks cute to warm up your face. If you have big eyes, you can outline the entire eye, but with small eyes, you definately don't want to because it makes them appear smaller, only do the top, the bottom, or the corners. Also, you could aply white eyeshadow under the brow line, on the lid, and in the crease of your eye lightly before you put on any shadows, it high lights the eye better.
deffinetly use light brown with orangish undertones, looks AMAZING with blue eyes (for the eyeshadow)

now for eyeliner, either black or a plum :)
    Brown eyeliner and copper eyeshadow.
go back to art and use use the color wheel to find complimentary colors
well withyour hair color and eyes a light eyeshadow like about white wud look cute on you :) and black eyeliner

  • How to keep eyeliner from coming off inner rim?

How do u keep the eyeliner from the bottom inner rim to stay put and not smudge off? I've seen people heat up the eyeliner pencil before applying, but is there a brand that won't smudge off?How to keep eyeliner from coming off inner rim?
burn your eye pencil at the tip with a lighter. wait a few seconds for it to cool and apply. works so well. dont burn your eye though make sure its only slighlty warm. makes it so dark tooHow to keep eyeliner from coming off inner rim?
im not sure of any brand they all kinda suck. Report Abuse

    I like Revlon Colorstay eyeliners.

Nice and cheap and I use them more than my MAC or Chanel eyeliners.

Use primer on your water line... I know, it sounds gross, but use a small brush or even a q-tip (might waste alot of product this way), but it's possible to get it onto your waterline (obviously as well as your lashline)

Use your better brand of eyeliner.

Then go over your eyeliner with the same colored eyeshadow to 'set' it (same idea if you use powder to set your foundation/concealer).

Or also invest in a soft kohl eyeliner. Can also be cheap. I use Rimmel's soft kohl eyeliner pencil in Pure White.

It's so soft and creamy that it easily applies .. almost THICKY on my waterline.. I still lightly go over it with white eyeshadow though...

    EDIT:

I use a blowdryer to heat my eyeliners (as well as my eye lash curlers haha).
I just picked up some waterproof eye pencils from Bourjois and it is amazing how well it stays on the inner lower rim of my eyes and doesn't irritate my eyes or make them red at all! I am so thrilled. I used to wear this Almay pencil for years then all of a sudden, they stopped making it. After that I could never find anything to stay and not smear and not make my eyes a weepy, red mess. These pencils are great! I highly recommend them. I am going to try everyone's tips as well. I appreciate it!
you can try waterproof because that's most likely the reason why it's coming off, because your eyes are wet. I have the same problem and I definitely think if you switch to waterproof, it won't come off. good luck! :)
    Reapply it throughout the day.
rimmel london jet black is amazingly good

What age do you think kids can start wearing eyeliner and eyeshadow?

i am buying a xmas presant for my niece and she i really into fashion and makeup and i was wonder if she is to old to wear eyeliner and shadow? (she is 11)What age do you think kids can start wearing eyeliner and eyeshadow?
13 is preferable. but use of eyeliner and shadow in small amount doesn't harm the skin as children get won recovery very easily.

bt advice her not to use them always. What age do you think kids can start wearing eyeliner and eyeshadow?
I would ask her mum first. I wouldn't buy her eyeliner, but maybe a pale eye shadow, a pale lip gloss, a nail varnish and some blush, but it depends on how she dresses, her skin tone, her hair colour and eye colour. if she has pale skin, fair hair and blue or grey eyes, then i would recommend pale pinks and peaches for blush and lips. If she has pale skin, dark hair and blue or green eyes, then light purples and grays would suit her. If she has dark skin, dark hair and dark eyes then olive greens will suit her (but make sure she knows that less is more!). Or if none of these help, then buy her a book called the beauty bible-its is a fantastic book and has helped me a lot with skin care and beauty. I hope I helped and that your niece likes her present.
Honestly, that is a bit too young:

Most will agree between 13-15 yrs old is most appropriate to start wearing a LITTLE makeup. Personally, I didn't start wearing eyeliner/shadow til I was almost 16 years old.

Nowadays, girls are being told to grow up faster by the media %26amp; their peers. Thats too bad though, because it sexualizes them in a way %26amp; makes them appear older, %26amp; way too soon.

If they start at 11, they will fell more self-consience %26amp; grow up too soon!! Let her enjoy being a kid, childhood goes by so quickly. :]

My adive for gift ideas would be a gift card to her fav store, or something else you know she'd like. Best of luck %26amp; Happy Holidays.
Eyeliner, no. Im 13 and only started wearing it for shopping, going to a friends house etc a few months ago! I wore it on special occasions about a year ago though :)

Eyeshadow, of course! I wore it when I was 9! Maybe mascara instead of eyeliner? Or an eyecurler. If shes wanting an eyeliner look, get the new Bourjois liner effect. Its really good and I have it ^^
I was allowed to wear makeup when I was 11.

I wish my mother had stopped me.

I think mascara and blush, and maybe a glittery/shimmery pale shadow should be enough for someone in Middle School. Don't give her anything that she could possible overdo, or that would give her mother a heart attack.
ok if you buy an 11yr old make up teach her how to put it on and when to much is to much things like that, personally i dont think 11yr olds should be wearing make up but if its something you want to get her than do it but teach her how to put it on so she looks pretty and not trashy, itll give her confidence and self esteeme !

    good luck
its always a good rule of thumb to check with her parents first to avoid her opening up the gift getting all excited then getting it taken away by her mother later. i cant tell you how many times that's happened to me years back! so if her mom says no then Look into buying her hair care products or a gift card to icing or Clair's.
Yeah, i think its a little young, i think i was about 7th grade tho. Also though its really not too young, because its not like its mascara and foundation. haha its just a little shadow and liner, so as long as it's ok w/ her mom and she doesn't wear A TON then i think it'll b a great gift
woah! 11 is too young, the youngest would at least be 13. and you may want to teach her how to apply it correctly, not too much or people will get ';the wrong idea'; and i'm sure that you know what i mean by that. That ';wrong idea'; will especially apply if you get her into makeup too young.
Yeah, I think 11 or 12 is a decent age, as long as she knows how to put the eyeliner on ok and not look like a raccoon.

I agree with mizzgiina too, I always liked glittery nail polish and fruity chapstick or lipgloss (lipsmackers) when I was that age.
I think 11 or 12 is fine if you only wear a very little. I think 14 or 15 is a good age to start wearing the works with eye liner, mascara and eye shadow. I'm 16 and didn't start wearing make up until I was 14. Maybe you should ask her parents first and see if it's ok.
my female cousins, and one of my younger male cousins that they tended to always use as a guinea pig started with clown like amounts of makeup and glitter at age 9 , age 9 and 12 respectively.

they had a lot of fun, and it was really funny to watch.
I think many girls that age do wear makeup, but I'm not sure they should! You should definitely ask her mom before you buy it for her. For an 11-year-old some fruity lip gloss or nail polish might be more appropriate than eyeliner and eyeshadow, or maybe some fancy bath products.
thats is pretty young. I would call her mom and check with her first. But i would say when she is 13 eyeliner would be appropriate. eyeshadow probably can be given at the age of 11, but no majorly strong or colorful or expensive makeup would be appropriate. :)
She is too young for makeup she is still a child,If you want to get her lip gloss fine but not eye or face makeup.not till 13 and then only mascarra and eye shadow if taught how to do it.
I think it depends on the parents, although my personal opinion is 15, but kids today are growing up so fast.. I would suggest asking her mom or dad if she's allowed to wear make-up before you buy anything she's not allowed to use
    she is kind of young.

you should check with her parents.

or you could get her makeup to play with.

i had that when i was younger i would give my friends makeovers.

hahah. i bet that she would like that.
she is waaaay too young to wear that! at 13 girls should start wearing light makeup like lip gloss, coverup and maybe mascara but eyeliner shouldnt be worn until 14 or 15. ur niece would look like a trashy little tart with eyeliner on. dont get it.
I Think That This Is Definatly Old Enough, Most Children Start Wearing Makeup When They Start Secondary School So This Is Around This Age, Hope This Helps x
11? wow. Kids wear make up at a very young age. When I was in high school, I didn't start wearing make up until i was 14 and when i was 14 i only wore it occasionally.
You should ask here mom before you get her makeup.

I am 14 and I am only allowed to wear mascara and lipgloss!

You can always get her lipgloss, it is the best way to go :)
i say they need to be at least 13. but of course my stepdaughters (11 year old) mother thinks different. it looks trashy on her and i hate it. my husband and i fight about it all the time
That's about the age that they start(probably a little older) but it really depends on their maturity level. I would recommend waiting another year or two personally.
Check with mom, but community standards are different from place to place.

Mine was allowed to wear it at 11 but actually wears LESS now at 13 and applies it better, too.

    Practice makes perfect?
Well i started wearing makeup when i was 12.

But eyeshadow is pretty much an all ages thing.

Eyeliner is a little more like 12 yrs old.
I think eighth grade or ninth grade is when kids should start. If you start to early, everyone will start so they don't feel left out, and the age will just keep getting younger.
    eyeshadow yes

    eyeliner......no

kids start wearin eyeliner too young and then cant leave the house without it forever

    its crazy

im 16 i think 11 is too young even tho i wore make up at that age!

    i think 13!
I would ask her mother first since they are the ones that would let her or not. I think that 11 is way too young. I think around 14 years old and older is much better.
she's not too old to wear eyeliner but maybe a little too young. its best to check with the parents. if they are ok with it then ok.
I don't' think that you should buy her eyeliner and other makeup, buy her belts or bracelets. Waring makeup will effect her skin!
14 is average. 11 is to young in our eyes but for kids these days who knows, just ask the mom if its ok.
